Dell Alienware M18X Optical Drvies Problems
Dell Alienware M18X Optical Drives Problems
Questions: Dell alienware m18x laptops can reads DVDs but not burn DVDsHi, All, I have a problems with Dell Alienware M18X. My alienware m18x dvd drive model slim type BD reads DVDs. When i try to burn dvds, it is failure. I've tried several programs and various types of discs as + R-R the problem I have is that with the NERO says there is a power failure in the unit slimtype and if I use tells me that error Power2Go 0xeb020b88 I have read in various forums and everyone says disk failure can be (and buy several different brands of discs and the problem continues) They say it can be problems of food Others say it may be the bios (say several people have updated their bios to vericon 202 and sometimes the laptop no longer turns on) Others say that lower the burn speed of 2x or 4 x and the lower and the problem continues.

Asus G73SW Drives Problems
Asus is now offering its high-end 17-inch G73 ( Asus G73SW ) notebook with a brand-new Intel Sandy Bridge processor. The powerful quad-core i7-2630QM is accompanied by an Nvidia GeForce GTX 460M.
Asus G73SW Optical Drive Specifications:
Asus G73SW Optical Drive: Slot DVD Super Multi Burner/BD Player
Hard Disk Drive: Specifications
Capacity: 500GB
Drive Types: Hard Drive
Hard Drive Speed: 7200 RPM
What It Is And Why You Need It:
1) Get started with the latest Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit Operating System
2) Supports a variety of media card formats for easy transfer and upload
3 )Stay connected with family and friends via the integrated 2-megapixel webcam
4) Second Generation Intel Core i7-2630M quad-core processor provides fast speeds for your applications
5) Take a break and watch a movie on the high-quality slot loading Blu-ray drive/ DVDRW burner
Overall the Asus G73SW is one of the best gaming notebooks currently on the market. Machines with similar performance like the Medion Erazer X6811 can be bought for significantly less, but in a direct comparison they lose out on several points (e.g. display and volume). However, the notebook is not quite good enough to be our new favourite, as the (more expensive) Alienware M17x R3 ( Dell Alienware M17x r3 slot dvd drive) is still just a touch better in terms of quality.

Asus G74SX Ultimate Gaming Laptops Review
Asus G74SX Ultimate Gaming Laptops Review:
Asus G74SX is designed for gamers. It is excellent performance into an attractive chassis. It's worth checking out if you're looking for a "mobile" gaming powerhouse. Compared to many other notebooks, the 17 inch device also scores points in areas other than pure performance. What is especially impressive is the advanced cooling system: System noise and heat emissions stay within reasonable limits. The high quality display, the impressively good manufacturing quality, and the matte insensitive surfaces, are all additional positive aspects that make the device stand out.
Asus G74SX Specs:
Content Creation
Image Editing 293 seconds (lower is better)
Video Encoding 189 seconds (lower is better)
Video Editing 174 seconds (lower is better)
GPU Graphics Rendering 300 seconds (lower is better)
Asus G74SX DVD Burning / Asus G74SX DVD Drives 103 seconds (lower is better)
CPU Graphics Rendering 227 seconds (lower is better)
Our three tested games show that not all new games can be played smoothly in the native resolution with maximum settings. While the football simulation Fifa 12 also smoothly rolls across the screen with high details and four times anti-aliasing (145.5 fps @ Full-HD), more demanding games often require a reduced configuration.

The good:The Alienware M14x, Dell's latest Alienware laptop, manages to pack amazing performance into a smaller-than-expected body with plenty of configuration options.
The bad:High-end configurations can be insanely expensive, and Alienware's laptop design is overdue for a refresh.
The bottom line:It's tough to find mobile PC gaming in a package that's neither too big nor too small. The Alienware M14x comes very close, with plenty of component options and a size that's hefty, but not backbreaking. Relate Blog: Dell E6400 CD DVD Drives or Blu Ray Drives

Alienware M17X Drive Couldn't Recognize
Questions: I just would like to know how come my Alienware M17X couldn't recognize my xBox 360 controller (Razer Onza Tournament Edition for xBox 360 and PC) I thought at first, that my Razer Onza wasn't working properly. But when I tried it on my desktop it worked out quite well. I think it has something to do with what I've done with my Alienware before. I installed my Solid State Drive ( Alienware M17X blu-ray drive ) as my primary resulting to a format of my OS. Did I miss a driver that I was supposed to install? Mr. Fox told me to just get a backup of my OS with the AlienRespawn through the use of backup CDs so I can install my original alienware OS to the new SSD. Should I reformat and do a clean install once again or just, download a missing driver. This controller I bought is supposed to be a plug and play controller, and it doesn't need drivers for it to work. I don't know what's going on in here, but I pretty much think it is a missing driver.
Answers: Xbox360 controllers should be automatically recognised by windows and it should then install the correct driver when you first plug the controller in after your format. Try uninstalling current Alienware m17x dvd driver burner and trying again (or try updating driver in windows). You can also get the software for the controller that comes in the box, here:
