Dell Inspiron 14R 5420 systems have been tested for support of Windows 8 upgrade. The Inspiron 14R 5420 does support upgrade to Windows 8, with the following open issues directly after upgrade:
Problem: System cannot detect graphic card when Secure Boot is enabled.
Solution: Do not turn on Secure Boot if you intend to upgrade to Windows 8.

I contacted dell support several times.. but the driver i was given does not installed and give error "Broadcom Bluetooth software" compatibility issue..
Please let me know what are the drivers i need to install after installing windows 8?
Try to install 1704 wireless driver from the driver CD (you must got with your laptop). It worked for me..
